Flatness is the general term that describes the degree of roughness and uneven thickness of the flat glass sheet surface. For glass with an uneven surface, it is just like that there are many different sized “wedge angles” on it pointing to different directions. When parallel light passes through it, the image of objects is distorted due to the light deviation in various directions and to different degrees.
