The "2013 Shahe International Glass Technology Seminar" jointly sponsored by Hebei Shahe Glass Technology Research Institute and Wuhan University of Technology was held in Shahe city, Heibei province on December 20. Present at the seminar were tip-top outstanding scientific research personnel and internationally renowned entrepreneurs from around the globe and representatives of outstanding enterprises in China totaling more than 200 people.

At the seminar, experts from various research institutes, universities and well-known companies brought new ideas, new thinking and new trends from the international forefront. Ouyang Shixi, Director of China Building Materials Science and Technology Commission explained to everyone about the hot issues during the development of glass industry; Zhang Pingan, Professor-class senior technician from China Building Material Federation shared opinions with the attendees about the development trends of China's glass industry; Wang Liming, Director General of the R&D Center of the Chinese facility of U.S. Corning Incorporated, and Mr. Yariv, CEO of Dip-Tech, an Israeli high-tech research R & D company of glass-ceramic digital printing technologies shared with the attendees the business cases and latest products of their respective enterprises, causing great concern among the meeting attendees.

It is understood that the first session of this seminar was held in 2011, and will be held every two years.
