Physicists recently have developed optical luminescent glass that emits visible light under ultraviolet radiation. The study will be conducive to promoting solar energy and creates some very favorable conditions for the expansion of LED production scale.
It was reported that the physicists from Heat & Mass Transfer Institute have developed a new luminescent glass that emits visible light under ultraviolet radiation. Heaters made of luminescent glass are not covered with ordinary glass. This optical material will emit light under ultraviolet radiation to protect solar cells from the damages caused by ultraviolet light. In addition, the conversion of ultraviolet radiation will also prevent it from exposure to more sunlight. Scientists say that at present, the efficiency of ultraviolet conversion in the luminescent glass is 30 percent, the goal of the future research projects is to increase the efficiency of ultraviolet conversion in the luminescent glass exponentially.
