How to Minimize White Haze in Tempered Glass
Time:2024-08-12 Hits:978

White haze in tempered glass can occur for several reasons, and different causes require different solutions.

Improper Parameter Setting

If the bottom heating temperature in the glass tempering furnace is too high, white haze may appear. Adjusting the temperature parameters of the bottom heating zone to meet the specific heating needs of the glass is crucial. Additionally, if the thermal balance in the heating furnace is insufficient, white haze can occur. Increasing the pressure or extending the opening time of the thermal balance can help mitigate this issue.

Mechanical Causes in the Tempering Process

Mechanical issues, such as unsynchronized ceramic rollers or excessive radial runout during rotation, can lead to white haze. It is essential to inspect the furnace's drive system and assess the radial runout condition of the ceramic rollers. Ensuring the ceramic rollers are horizontally aligned using a level instrument can also prevent haze.

Poor Glass Preprocessing

A significant portion of white haze issues stems from preprocessing, primarily due to glass dust from edge grinding. This dust should be washed off before tempering. If the washing water is not properly cleaned, it can cause white haze. To avoid this, frequently clean the water tanks in the glass washer.
